usually when i access a banking website a green banner descends from the top of my browser to indicate banking security is enabled, this has ceased to work, i run on google chrome and i have the latest version instlled. When i us edge browser the green banner works as it should.

If trouble with Google Chrome is not pinned to only certain banking website (all banking-related rated websites do not trigger a banner) - then I think that good to doublecheck "F-Secure Browsing Protection extension for Google Chrome" status. Or even to reinstall it.

since your experience is about TalkTalk - maybe Browser extension is also customized. But, most likely, steps to reinstall / get it with related view (as with suggested pages).
