Support for Windows 8.1 ending on May 31, 2024 F-Secure will stop supporting the Windows 8.1 operating system on May 31, 2024.
Microsoft ended the support for Windows 8.1 on January 10, 2023. F-Secure can no longer guarantee the safety of your computer even if it has our security product installed. We are, therefore, also forced to terminate the support for Windows 8.1.
What does this mean?
As of May 31, 2024, there will be no product upgrades for computers running Windows 8.1. Also, the product will no longer receive any virus database updates.
What do I need to do?
If you want to be safe and secure, you must stop using Windows 8.1. Either upgrade the operating system to a newer version of Windows or purchase a new computer with the Windows 10 operating system or newer.
Warning: If you continue using a computer running Windows 8.1, avoid doing anything sensitive with the computer, such as banking or online shopping!
