F-Secure AV on Mac OS: Login not working

Mac OS Sonoma 14.3.1. // AV 19.4. (60838) : User of F-Secure AV for a a long time.

Now 2 problems :

  • permanent error message "AV database not up uptodate" . No proper instruction how to fix this. Normal update processes fail.
  • Open F-Secure from the top level menu: Top Right "please login" and this login does not work at all. Both issues may hang together, since the updater may need access.

    Hello @KlausP,

    thank you for your post.

    I have checked your account and found that there has been no connection between the programme and the device for the last few weeks. I also see that you have recently renewed your subscription. It can happen that the programme loses the connection to the account during the renewal, causing the database to become outdated. 

    Therefore, I would like to ask you to follow the steps below to reinstall the programme on your Mac device so that the database is brought up to date.

    The instructions are for Windows, a blue button with Download for Mac should appear on your device.
