Please add support for Vivaldi browser

I also have F-secure Total and now installed Vivaldi. But I do not have F-secure in Vivaldi.

You could try to use F-Secure extension (Browsing Protection; or Password Vault) for Chrome browser. Installing and enabling browser extension for Chrome; following the instructions from the knowledge base - open resulted webpage (should be triggered Google Chrome) in your Vivaldi browser and (I think) it is possible to utilize it.

If Google Chrome is not installed on your system, there will be an option to copy URL to its extension/addon store so that you can use F-Secure addon in the Vivaldi browser by adding it manually (by visiting Chrome store manually).

Meaning: F-Secure protection with almost all things as system-wide. F-Secure browser extensions are required for some extra abilities;

Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge / Mozilla Firefox are three fully supported ones. F-Secure extension(s)/addon(s) are accessible in their 'stores'.

It is quite possible to utilize extension from Google Chrome store with almost any Chromium-based browsers. Such as "Vivaldi" (browser) I suppose.

Recently, I tried it with Opera Air; Where I manually added F-Secure Browsing Protection extension (via opening Google Chrome store and installing addon manually there) and looks like all functionality is working: proper visible blockpages; search rating logos, Banking Protection.

Thanks for your reply and suggestion. With Chrome I opened the F-secured extension and then opened with Vivaldi the same link and installed the extension in Vivaldi. It seems to be working.

It’s great that you managed to set up the extension in the Vivaldi browser. Even better, it works at a sufficiently good level (at the very least). I think your experience is about F-Secure Browsing Protection addon (as my own experience with Opera Air browser); because setting up the F-Secure Password Vault add-on is likely much more complex (if it is even possible) and I still haven't tried to do it.

However, F-Secure, as an EU based company, officially supports Chrome and Edge (US based), and Vivaldi, an EU browser is not directly supported (as Opera). Not too coherent the strategy from F-Secure.

Well, surely thinking of Vivaldi as the EU browser is also a stretch slightly. But I understand your point of view and your perspective.

And all of them (Edge, Chrome, Vivaldi) are Chromium-based. So, Chromium project is still an open-source project. Essentially, support is provided directly for Chromium-based browsers (at the extension level), and consequently maybe for even more browsers (like Brave and so).

It is simply that F-Secure's official guarantees apply to, say, the three most popular browsers (and even then, most likely only to the last three or five versions) and its 'stores' (a place from where to get extension/addon). Just as with search engines support (Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo), while there are plenty of others including strictly EU-based (probably).

Just a side question. I also use Vivaldi on Kubuntu (Linux), and I wonder if I could use the F-secure extension on Linux (I guess it would not work). I only use the F-Secure Browsing Protection that I find very good. I do not use the F-Secure Password vault.

It would not work, yes. Because (currently) F-Secure Browsing Protection extension is 'synced' with installed product, so to speak.

For the extension to function, you need the product itself and a supporting version of the product for the extension (or even extension build itself for the product).

You can install the extension in Vivaldi on Linux (probably), but you will get a message like "unable to find a product to work with" by trying to use it (clicking addon logo) and no any features around because software (provider of features) is not installed.

There is (currently) no F-Secure solution for Linux designed for home users (if not to think about Android platform). And there are some feature requests about it.
