Issue:
F-Secure Freedome VPN installation or update on Windows computer fails with "Unknown error". What should I do?
Resolution:
If you have F-Secure Total or Internet Security installed on your computer, you need to temporarily disable the Tamper Protection feature:
- Open the F-Secure Total or Internet Security user interface
- Click on the menu button (three lines) in the top-left corner
- Click Settings
- Go to the Viruses & Threats tab
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and disable Tamper protection
After you have disabled the feature, run the F-Secure Freedome VPN installation or update again. When the installation or update has successfully gone through, you can enable the Tamper Protection feature again by following the same steps.
