<main> <article class="userContent"> <h3 data-version="3" data-article="000025463" data-id="issue">Issue:</h3> <p>Opening F-Secure ID PROTECTION I get an error "The master password must be the same on all connected devices. Enter your new master password", I didn't change the password. How can I solve it?</p> <h3 data-id="resolution">Resolution:</h3> <p>We suggest you to uninstall the app from other devices and keep it installed on Windows device only. Then the way to correct the situation is to:<br></p><ol><li>Export the current passwords from the current installation <ul><li>Go to <b>Settings </b></li><li>Click on <b>Export passwords</b></li><li>Proceed with <b>Export</b></li><li>Save the exported file, without it you will lose all your ID PROTECTION stored passwords.</li></ul></li><li>Quit F-Secure ID PROTECTION <ul><li>Right-click the F-Secure ID PROTECTION system-tray icon</li><li>Select <b>Quit</b></li></ul></li><li>Uninstall <i>F-Secure ID Protection: User Data</i> from Add/Remove programs list of Windows (or possibly F-Secure KEY: User Data if the software was upgraded from F-Secure KEY)</li><li>Open F-Secure ID PROTECTION, go through the activation flow and create new master password</li><li>Unlock F-Secure ID PROTECTION and Import the previously exported passwords back to this newly activated F-Secure ID PROTECTION <ul><li>Go to <b>Settings </b></li><li>Click on <b>Import passwords</b></li><li>Continue with<b> Select</b></li></ul></li><li>Install F-Secure ID PROTECTION on other devices and connect them with the one installed on the Windows.</li></ol><p>Article no: 000025463</p> </article> </main>
