VPN drops on Huawei (Android 5.0.1)

I've recently changed phone, and on the new Huawei P8 lite the VPN connection drops every time (within seconds, max. minutes) the phone is idle/locked. Freedome version is 2.1.1.3446.

    Does Freedome auto connect again once your phone is unlocked or back from idle? Does your phone have internet connection when it is locked or in idle state?

    Hi Laksh,

     

    No, it doesn't auto-connect, unless I open the app. When doing so, the big central status will be immediately showing "on", and you'll see it "connecting..." for a few seconds, then it's connected and the little key icon in the Android status bar comes back on.

    And yes, the phone has quasi-permanent Internet connection; if not WiFi, then certainly GSM.

    Hi Laksh,
    I wish it were that easy. That was the 1st thing I tried, and it didn't help.
