Using FSecure Total VPN solves my issue with Apple Devices app (Win 11).

Bought new iPhone 16. Opens it, it demands update, connects to Win 11 PC with Apple Devices app and tries to update iPhone 16 with it. Update gets stuck and fails.

After 12 hours of intense work solving the issue the Apple Devices app is NOT working I bump into a post the suggests to try put VPN on.

Opens FSecure, puts VPN on, boots iPhone, opens Apple Devices, connects phone and presses "Update " .. AND IT WORKS !!

I used so much time trying to get my brand new iPhone update working and finally putting VPN on solves my problems.

I just wanted you all to know… 1) never update any Apple hardware with Windows system. It will not work 100% sure. 2) FSecure VPN solved my BIG problem, and I guesss Apples problem too.

    Wow same here.. had a similar issue during setup and enabling VPN really did the trick.. FSecure came through big time

    That is a fantastic tip, @Jukka146 !

    It’s incredibly frustrating when a standard device update gets completely stuck like that, especially on a brand new phone. Windows and Apple ecosystems don't always play nice together, and network routing or regional server blocks can easily stall an update mid-way.

    Using a VPN is a brilliant workaround for this. By routing your connection through a different server, F-Secure Total VPN essentially bypasses whatever local network hiccup or ISP throttling was blocking the Apple Update servers.

    Thanks for sharing this fix with the community—I'm sure this will save a lot of people hours of troubleshooting when they encounter the exact same loop!
