Release 19.8 beta 4 (build 63042)
Highlight of this release:
- Many UI improvements
- New Scam Protection feature: cookie blocker 🍪
- DeepGuard default behaviour change: in simple mode, DeepGuard will automatically block unknown software from modifying user data, instead of prompting the user. If you still wish to be prompted by DeepGuard, enable Advanced Mode in DeepGuard settings
- Improved Events subview, including new features "Show all events" and "Clear all events"
Note: an issue in the previous beta release may prevent automatic upgrade. If your FS Protection installation has not automatically updated to build 63042 within 48 hours, you can download and install a hotfix from the link below:

After installing the hotfix, click "Check for updates" in the menubar menu to trigger a product upgrade. If the upgrade still doesn't work, please do let us know here in the forum!

Highlight of this release:
- Improved telemetry reporting: We noticed a drop in number of reported events by the product and discovered a regression related to the ongoing work on backend load optimization. The issue is now fixed and is expected to recover for this release.
- Improved storage consumption in case of failure in anti-virus database update processes.
- Optimized DeepGuard rule loading routine to decrease the time needed during startup and rule reload.
- Localization updates.

Hi Arthur,
After upgrading to build 63352 I kept receiving this block event, even though I've already added it to the allow list. Can you please have a look? thanks.

I might find the cause of this issue. I've set deny rules for certain apps to stop them from changing my files. The rule is structured like this: Team ID identifies the blocked app.
Now DeepGuard ignores the team ID in deny rules and refuses to allow any apps to write to "~/Music/Music".
But using Team ID in allow rules still works as expected. That's weird.

Thanks for the report. Yes, I also recall quite complex logic on DeepGuard side when it comes to matching deny & allow decisions in overlapping policies/rules.
Could I please ask you to enable debug logging and if possible to trigger the behavior to happen again afterwards so that our Support Tool captures it? Hope you're doing well.
I don't know what exactly had changed in DeepGuard's rule engine, but the Release 19.8 really makes DeepGuard in strict mode a
JOKE.Here I give access for /Applications/IINA.app/ with team id "67CQ77V27R" to access media files. Then I copy Excel.app under IINA.app.
The Excel.app will then inherit the access from IINA.app just because IINA.app is its parent folder. You can drag-n-drop any mp4/avi…files into Excel and DeepGuard will NOT trigger any pop-up. I don't think this is what we expected.

With release 19.7 everything is fine:
Even I copy Excel.app under IINA.app, DeepGuard will still prompts and asks user.

We are reviewing the recent changes made in the team ID matching area of DeepGuard and will get back to you once we identify the fault. It indeed sounds like a regression in DeepGuard's matching logic.

Release 19.10 beta 1 (build 63939)

Highlight of this release:
- New foundation for device protection: the anti-malware and DeepGuard features are now backed by a new core component called F-Secure Cassiopeia, which delivers malware detection via local scan engine and cloud lookups. After updating to 19.10, the product will start downloading Cassiopeia in the background. After download is complete, it should show up in the Updates tab of the product settings.
- Fixes to performance and stability of real-time scanning and DeepGuard
- Fixed an issue where Team ID constraints would not be properly accounted for in custom DeepGuard rules
