• Improved detection of feature set change for Scam Protection feature
  • browser extensions are notified about feature set changes with lower delays
• Implement VPN configuration profile cleanup during product uninstall

• VPN: Tracking Protection feature is currently unavailable. Hiding it in product settings until support is properly implemented on the VPN gateway side.
• VPN: make "Killswitch" feature toggle in product settings interactive instead of having forced "enabled" state.
• VPN: update "Killswitch" feature description in product settings to better match its behavior.

Running Version 25.3 (64583) in macOS Ventura 13.3.1 (a).

I installed a VPN extension, but the system's settings didn't automatically open, so I had to do it manually. The install box just remained loading...

Actually, I tried it a couple of times already and didn't realise I had to do it myself :) It would be good to fix for average users like me.

Could you please share if this issue occurred when you were you trying to enable VPN for the first time or you've used VPN feature before upgrading to 25.3 (64583)?

Also have you ever disabled the VPN extension manually in macOS system settings at some point in the past?

I used to have Freedome, so I haven't used VPN feature before now from FS. So, this was the first time, and the program added the extension for the first time. Consequently, I haven't disabled it before.

Thanks! We will test the setup flow on our side and will share if we can reproduce the issue.

But yes, we trigger the installation dialog and expect the operating system to open System Settings app to guide the user. Sounds like that does not happen for some reason. We'll try to investigate it more on our side.

Hi, @Dexter73!

One follow-up question. Do you see this prompt when you try to enable VPN?

I've now been testing the latest FS Protection version on macOS Ventura and see that it behaves as expected. When I try to enable VPN for the first time, It shows the access prompt where you should click "Open System Settings" to open the correct section of macOS System Settings app.

If you click "OK", it just dismisses the dialog without opening macOS System Settings app. I understand how this might be confusing considering the "OK" option is highlight as default choice. But this is what Apple decided for this dialog. Unfortunately, we cannot affect how it behaves from out side.

The access prompt didn't show up, and that confused me. Only FS "waiting for system extension to load" showed up. Naturally, the Apple dialogue box might have been under the program, but I didn't check that.
