Freedome not working on Windows 7
Hello
Windows 7 and Windows 8 are no longer supported by Microsoft, as you know.
So I really need to protect this PC with a VPN, but Freedome does not work on my Windows 7 machine. Here is the error message:
"VPN initialization error
Your encrypted VPN connection cannot be created because of issues with network configuration (netsh.exe fails).
Please check that you have IPv6 traffic enabled. If the problem persists,
please contact our https://redir.fd.f-secure.com/community/windows Support."
IPv6 has been enabled, so probably not the cause.
Graphics chip is AMD HD6470M (1Gb RAM).
APU is AMD E-350 1,6Ghz. 8 Gb RAM. ASUS X73BY computer, at least 5 years old.
All Windows 7 updates have been applied.
Freedom version is 1.6.32.89.0. Licence bought for 5 devices yesterday September 4, 2016.

The following seems to have worked for Ethernet and Wireless connections in my Pc.
Go to Network Connections, right click on FreedomVPNConnection, enable TCPIP version 6.
For some unknown reason, it was disabled.
In the opinion of many, Windows 7 not Windows 10, is the best version of Windows but Microsoft's withdrawal of security updates in particular has scared many people into upgrading to Windows 10.
Only to find that Windows 10 is not able to identify older PC hardware, installs the wrong graphics drivers in particular, which often leads to screen flashing and/or horizontal lines and very disappointed Pc users.
Going back from Windows 10 to Windows 7 often requires setup DVDs or restoration hidden partitions which may no longer exist. Not everybody has regularly made full Pc backups to external hard drives/media since purchasing a Windows 7 Pc. Nor does everybody want to switch to Linux.
Although Linux happily coexists with Windows 7 in a dual-boot setup so we can have it all
I suggest that F-Secure makes a Freedome version which does not require DirectX and runs light for older Pcs running Windows 7 on older hardware. The potential market might be enormous and be well worth the cost of re-programming the current product.
