There was one problem I had the whole time. Every time I closed freedome or rebooted my system, i had to enter my code again. Could that be the problem?
That might explain my issue. I haven't reinstalled Freedome as such but after migrating one of my machines to OS X 10.11 I had to reenter the key as it looks like the app loses all its settings across versions.

You do not need to reinstall and reenter the code for every update. You can simply apply the update to your current installation.
Every reinstallation takes one seat on you subscription(multi-platforms subscription ).
