I am a Virgin user and been advised to install F Secure.
I followed the various links - downloaded the F Secure
I then ran the setup application
I was advised that the system would remove Virgin software
Then told it was unable to remove Virgin software and I should remove manually (it is apparently removed and no longer shows on the 'list of installed programs'
I removed manually and tried again and get the same messages - i.e.. Virgin software is present, can't remove, I should remove manually
I now see that I still have a directory - C:\Program Files (x86)\Virgin Media\Virgin Media Security\10.0.41.60198\ with loads of files.
How do I resolve this situation?

Try running the VMS uninstaller to fully remove VMS, then the F-Secure installation should work:

Hi there
Since downloading the F-Secure products today I'm having issues with displaying pictures on many websites.
Some load fine but many only display partially or not at all. Even having issues with our Virgin Media Homepage.
Also getting SSL error messages.
Issues seem to be on Chrome and IE
Any ideas?
Thanks
Steve
Hi Steve,
To start with the basics, did you uninstall the Virgin product fully before installing F-Secure, and do you have any other security software on the device?
Hi Simon
I didn't have the VM Security product. I was using McAfee but your download/install routine removed McAfee.
I'm even having problems browsing to these forum pages
Hi Steve
you may not have removed the remnants of McAfee, so I would download, install and use its specific uninstaller; http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS101331 .Then reboot.
If results are no better, then carry out an uninstall/ fresh install of F-Secure.
Keep us posted.
Big Thanks F-Secure from virgin media customers. However, I could not activate F-Secure in my Nexus 7 tablet. While activating, it gives an error message "Internal error occurred". Could you please help me?
Thank you.
Hello Guitart85,
Could you precise the android version you are currently running on your Nexus device?
Be aware that android version 4.4 Kitkat isn't yet supported.
Thank you.
Unfortunately, i recently updated 4.3 to 4.4. So, when would F-secure be able to support 4. Otherwise, I might have to downgrade my Android version (if that is possible, as I am not that tech savvy).
Thank you.
Hello Guitart85,
Support for android 4.4 is coming shortly, within next couple of weeks is currently the plan.
Hope that clarifies it for you.
Is it's always likely to be the case that support for new versions of Android will come later than the actual releases? If this is the case what happens if F-Secure Mobile Security is already installed on a device that subsequently gets updated?
Hi Simon, unfortunately that is currently correct as we receive new versions of Android as they are launched.
If the Mobile Security client is already installed, it may be necessary to manually uninstall it and wait for the compatible version. This of course also depends on the nature of the changes that the Android update contains.
Thanks for that clarification. Unfortunately, that does seem to pose potential problems for Android users. Is is not possible to obtain pre-release versions of Android updates from the Android community? It does seem a little disruptive for users to potentially have to uninstall their mobile security while awaiting updates.
Simon.
P.S. Apologies to Guitar85 for the thread hijack!
Hi Simon,
I agree. Our R&D is currently working on getting the new versions beforehand, so that our compatibility would be on par with the Android releases.
Many thanks.
All seems OK now , installtion complete and software available (Virgin gone)
Hi I have installed F-Secure on my laptop with no problems, but the SMS link sent to my mobile keeps coming up as server error 404 page not found. I have a ZTE Blade 3 on Android 4.0.4 Any help would be appreciated.

Hello there back at the end of October I installed this product as instructed to by Virgin. I have had no problems with it on my laptop but for the last 3 weeks I have been trying to install it on the other 2 computers in the household. It won't allow me to download the new secure system onto either of the 2 desktop systems. Now I thought I had registered with F Secure when I downloaded it myself but according to the login details I don't exist under any email address! What can I do to rectify this before VMS runs out at the end of this month?
Hi simes1970,
As advised by Simon before, please do contact support to address that issue with the installation and login details, as they can't be shared here.
Thanks Blackcat
That worked for my Windows 7 PC but laptop with Windows 8 still had issues so in the end I had to remove F-Secure and go back to McAfee :-(
