F-Secure on Android prompts an unnecessary notification about priviledges
Hi! Since I have installed F-Secure on two modern phones Motorola Edge 60 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S24+, F-Secure has not behaved correctly (on the first device on Android 15 and on the latter on Android 16/OneUI 8):
Usually at boot, though not limited to it, you get a notification that operation of the app has halted due to not having priviledges to work in the background. Once you tap the notification, you get to a screen in the app that says all is fine. I wish this unnecessary behavior gets fixed eventually.
The screenshots show that at boot, once the notification pops up, after a few seconds usual operation continues, and the third screenshot shows what the app has to say when you tap the error notification.

Hello,
I think that if an app has halted due to not having privileges to work in the background, then described situation is by design. In the sense that the app should notify about an error condition, ideally know the "cause" and also report it, and then also advise how to fix the situation and prevent it from happening again.
Did you try to follow its suggestions about?
Or is it that all permissions have already been granted and "optimizations" have been removed for the app? So, everything is being displayed completely incorrectly? Like 'without reason' (and not just "unnecessary" notifications as such).
If you don't want to do what's recommended there (for example) and find these notifications unnecessary, then perhaps you could try filing this as a feature request / feedback here: https://community.f-secure.com/en/categories/Idea_Exchange
Sorry if I misunderstood some aspects of the situation.
Thanks!

Hello,
I can't check this on my any up-to-date Android devices right now, but on the old one and with an older version of F-Secure app - I think - my experience is somewhat close to described point.
Since all the necessary things are granted, the situation does indeed appear to be unintentional behavior. It may be that during boot-up time, the application has not yet had time to "start" normally and displays this temporary "error/recommendation" because it is unable to correctly determine the cause or determine whether everything required for operation has been provided (some time lag or inaccessible service to receive such information).
If so, hard to say if it is pinned to device's performance abilities or something like that. There is functionality like this (https://help.f-secure.com/product.html#home/total-android/latest/en/task_BC6AD7A8FEA44B30BDD4C781BB93E07C-latest-en), which can be useful after contacting F-Secure official Support channels via phone call or web-chat. https://www.f-secure.com/en/support options are visible in the middle of the page; there is a note of 'new' design of chat, though.
Maybe you can try to share your experience with them for more 'analysing' than guessing.
Thanks!
