Browser Extension and Melvor Idle problem

Around a week ago I've noticed a problem with F-Secure's browser extension while trying to load a save on Melvore Idle page (a browser based game). The loading takes forever if at all, sometimes just crashes the whole browser tab. Without extension everything is fine. Any ideas?

Hi! Thanks for the tip. I went and disabled protections one by one. Once "Cookie blocker" under Scam protections was disabled - everything started to work. So turned everything else back on and disabled this for now.

Here are my software versions:
Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.22631.4317]
Firefox 132.0 (also happened in previous update)
MS Edge 130.0.2849.56
Browsing Protection by F-Secure version: 5.7.2 1 for both FF and Edge
F-Secure 19.7 (also happened on 19.6).

Cookie blocker is indeed quite a recent addition. We will discuss it internally how to improve the feature to prevent it from disrupting such use cases.

Could you please share which

• OS (Windows/macOS)
• browser (Chrome/Firefox/Edge/Safari)
• extension version

are you using when you are seeing the issue? This should help us isolate the issue.

One other thing that comes to mind, you could try to disable certain features of the extension in the product settings and check if it starts to behave better. For example, if you disable Ad blocker or Banking/Browsing/Shopping Protection, it might help to identify which one of the feature is causing this effect.

The issue was fixed in the browser extension version 5.7.23. This version is already released to production, so you may enable consent management feature and see if the problem went away.
