Secure Browsing extension in Safari missing (fixed)
In Safari on MacOs 11, the Secure Browsing extension was missing for me.
Symptoms:
F-Secure complains that the extension is not active, but asking the F-Secure app to install it doesn't help:
The extension is actually already installed in the Application folder:
But it doesn't show up in Safari's extensions overview (Found via Safari -> Settings..... , tab Extensions)
Solution:
Found at trevoz at the Apple forums thread 253409221:
1: Close Safari
2: Open Terminal
3: Run the command
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user
4: Re-open Safari
The extension now shows up in the list of extensions, and works. If this is the first time it has been installed, it also needs to be given the right to inspect the web content.
F-Secure also shows that the extension is on:
