'database update in progress' but never finishes, Internet Security 19.2 (51879) on macOS 12.6.7

Hi, it seems like my F-Secure Internet Security 19.2 (51879) never finishes the database update. Database version 2023-10-11_11 on macOS 12.6.7.

Is this a known issue? Have other people in the community experienced the same problem? I already restarted my machine but this does not seem to make a difference. I also clicked Check for updates again. It starts but never finishes.

It stands out after making the change I did not need a restart. A bit of patience did it. After a couple of hours 'Internet Security' shows that it is up to date. I was planning to do a system restart later today but it solved itself.

Thank you very much for your post and welcome to our forum community.

To solve this problem run this command in Terminal on you Mac:

sudo chmod 644 /Library/F-Secure/fssp/etc/subscription_map.txt

The easiest way to open Terminal is from Spotlight search. Click on the small magnifying glass icon at the top-right corner of your Mac or press Command + Space keys at the same time to launch Spotlight. Then you can type in "Terminal" and double-click the appeared Terminal. app to open it.

Thank you for this information. Thankfully I know a bit of Unix CLI, did the chmod, but 644 does not seem to do the job. Unless I have to do a complete restart again?
