Extremely high RAM usage (40-50GB!) during scan
Hi,
I would just like to report a "small" error , which I have been observing for months.
When I start a full scan, F-Secure fills the RAM of my PC to 100%. It simply fills up at some point.
Even stopping the scan does not change anything.
It is the process "WithSecure Pisces Hoster".
I have this behaviour on my desktop PC as well as on my notebook.
Desktop PC
Windows 11
AMD Ryzen 9 7950X
64GB RAM
1x 1TB NVME SSD
3x 2TB SSD
F-Secure 19.0
I have the same problem with my notebook. Unfortunately I don't know where else to report such a bug.

Hello @MichaelB9
Welcome to the F-Secure Community. Thank you for your post.
Just a quick check-in to confirm if you currently have any other anti-virus programs installed on your PC?
Additionally, I would love to help you troubleshoot the issue you're experiencing with the full scan. Have you tried adjusting the scanning settings as suggested in this article https://help.f-secure.com/product.html#home/total-windows/latest/en/task_DA9DC2D0CF664461B679DD6157516892-latest-en?
If the issue persists, you may want to consider uninstalling and then reinstalling the app using our helpful Uninstallation tool for a fresh start https://community.f-secure.com/common-home-en/kb/articles/5439-how-do-i-uninstall-f-secure-products-using-the-uninstallation-tool.
If the issue still persists after the reinstallation, don't worry, we can still help. Can you kindly generate an FSDIAG report by following the instructions outlined in this helpful guide https://help.f-secure.com/product.html#home/total-windows/latest/en/task_440332E5EC0C44C8B02B8C2F40E21654-latest-en?
Thank you so much for your patience, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further concerns. Have a fantastic day!
