Is Freedome compatible with the iPhone 8 Plus?

My impression is that Freedome gets OFF after some time (maybe minutes, max 1,2 hours) - not matter of WiFi or mobile data.

I aslo see no small VPN icon in the upper menue. I use an iPhone 8 Plus.

On my iPad Air 2 Freedome works fine.

Both devices are uptodate (run with iOS 11).

This is not an official point of view, I am only user of F-Secure apps. I am not a developer.
So I don't know, if Freedome is compatible with iPhone 8 plus.

Mentioned above:No more small VPN icon > check Freedome settings > icon > point or not?

Is there in this fine iPhone Plus 8 -smartphone so called battery savings-function? < OFF-line, apps out of use, because of saving battery.
There are some phone models with this kind of property.

I found another solution here in Community:
switch to IKE V1. Do you understand, what does it mean? I don't use iPhone myself.

Icon: There is no such option to turn on/off.

 

Battery Saving option is OFF.

 

I switched to IKEv1 now, will see (and post here) if this changes something.

As mentioned by Näsäviisas, we have seen a few posts here and here related to switching IKEv setting. Please give it a try and let us know if it works.

Hello,

no, it still does not work as before (with iPhone SE, and/or the former iOS).

My impression is it works when using WiFi but not when mobile data (4G).

 E.g.

1. WLAN is ON, Freedome connected, and icon is shown.

2. Disabling WLANm switch to 4G. Still Freedone shows "YES" for connected but the icon disappeared.

3. After sone time Freedome shows "No" (for no in use anymore).

It is harmfull- smartphones are so complicated.
I was reading iOS 11-cases here in Community. What about IKEv2 setting?
Switching?
Could you compare settings between iphone and ipad? Differences?
How is it in Iceland with 4G? Is it working properly?
I understand situation, when there are
- operating systems (Windows, Android, iOS etc.) and many versions
- a lot of devices (phones, computers, tabs)
- apps
- all working together "sync"

I had an iPhone SE (with newest iOS, same as iPhone 8 Plus) and it worked well, the icon was shown, no switching OFF of Freedome when in celular mode. IKEv2 was always ON, now with iPhone 8 Plus OFF.

4G works very well here in Iceland (I live in Reykjavík, very good coverage (?) of 4G).

iPad Air 2 works without any problems, as the SE. Only the 8 Plus makes smaller problems.
