Why is it so difficult to renew with F-Secure for £25.00 as it states in virgin media. I did it last year but this year it is confusing. Also my license has just ran out but on my account it says it ran out last september. Just need help.

Maybe good to contact direct Support Channels (F-Secure or Virgin Media) for proper clarification and advice. For example, it is not clear how it should be currently; also maybe there is requirements for certain steps or something else.
