Web site storing data for offline use.
Hi everyone,
I was trying to use some of the advanced options of the Firefox browser when I saw the following.
1. A picture of the browser. The black box is mine. [Behind the box there’s an IP address].
Exceptions were blank. I don’t remember having allowed the browser to perform this action. I removed the address. Does anyone have idea of why is that there?
Might be a silly question, but why a web site would want to do that? Some insight would be much welcome. Thank you beforehand.

I guess possible explanations could be that maybe an add-on saved this data, or you once clicked Allow but don't remember it when you got a prompt like this one:

Personally I have the History setting in Firefox set to "Never remember history" which is like running private browser mode all the time with no writes to disk. As comparison Internet Explorers private mode writes to disk as usual but then deletes these files when you exit private mode.
