Hi,

We  used to have instructions available for configuring a http-proxy for this particular product on our old forum (forum.f-secure.com), but as the site is no longer available, posting this information again for your convenience.

Before starting, log in as a user with Administrator privileges.

1. Open a Terminal window by navigating with Finder to /Applications/Utilities. Double-click Terminal.

Let's create a writable copy of the AUA config file and use the default text editor to modify the file.

$ cp /usr/local/f-secure/fsaua/etc/fsaua_config /tmp
$ open -t /tmp/fsaua_config

2. Locate the following string inside the file.

#http_proxies=

Edit the string and add the name of your local http-proxy to the string and remove the hash (#) symbol.

http_proxies=http://my-proxy.company.com:3128

Save the file by selecting the Close option from the File menu, TextEdit automatically saves the file.

3. Copy the modified copy of the file back to its original location.

$ sudo cp /tmp/fsaua_config /usr/local/f-secure/fsaua/etc/fsaua_config

As this requires elevated user rights, type the password for the administrative account.

Restart the AUA daemon by asking launchd to stop it. This also automatically relaunches it.

$ sudo launchctl stop com.f-secure.aua

Remove the stored copy of the file.

$ rm /tmp/fsaua_config

    Hi Peter,

    I have been using F-Secure Anti-Virus for Mac since the very beginning, but since the latest F-secure product update F-Secure Anti-Virus for Mac stopped using the fsaua_config file in the /usr/local/f-secure/fsaua/etc directory.

    After the update we reconfigured the proxies in the new fsaua_config file, but connection attempts from the Mac to F-secure servers no longer reach our proxy.

    Uninstalling the software completely does not fix the problem.

    Any thoughts?

    thx
