Hi, i'm running a 10 Gbps local area network, but when i install F-Secure my LAN speed is reduced to 1 Gbps, something in the software is causing trouble.

Any suggestions to fix this?

    Hello,

So, I am also only an F-Secure user.

    Some questions:

    • have you tried disabling some F-Secure features to see if any particular one is related to this impact?
    • is it something stable? like speed is reduced to a static 1gbps without any movement around and does not related to any current system's load or whatever?

Then, I am not at all sure about the technical side of the matter. But if to suppose that in your case - network filtering driver used by F-Secure may be a partial reason for such a drop in speed (either not supporting higher; or just 'reducing' speed; or something else) - can you check suggestion from this topic: with some official response. Unrelated trouble, but this part about way to temporarily disable network filtering driver:

Could you test if stopping our network filtering driver fixes the trouble.

Once the product is installed, do these steps:

Open command prompt as administrator (elevated)

    Run: net stop fsnethoster

    Run: net stop fsnifdrv

    Run: net start fsnethoster

This disables network filtering on driver level while keeping browser extensions working. Especially banking protection is pretty useless without driver.

    ….

To return back to normal operating mode you can just reboot or run: net start fsnifdrv

However, I am not sure if these 'steps' are still up-to-date. Anyhow, I think that if this kind of 'brief check' does not help - it would be best to contact their official support team (web-chat or phone call options (then with options to escalate via email or other channels)), as logs or technical information will likely be required here.

    Thanks!
