subscription not updated anymore?
Hello everyone,
I am a beta FS protection user, my subscription has expired few days ago.
I am not sure if I am still considered part of the beta users, as I have tried writing mail to beta@f-secure.com but I receive neither a reply nor an automatic renewal.
Does anyone get the same issue? Thanks.

To F-Secure admins:
Please publish clear, up-to-date rules and procedures for the FS Protection beta(and others if exist) programme in a pinned forum post. These should explain participation requirements, what counts as inactivity, how subscription renewals work, and expected response times.
Simply referring users to beta@f-secure.com is not sufficient when requests appear to go unanswered and subscriptions remain expired. Please establish a reliable renewal process and a clear escalation route for unanswered requests.
Beta testers should not have to guess whether they are still enrolled, why their subscription has expired, or what they need to do to continue participating.

Hi @rossimessi , sorry for the confusion. I wasn’t referring to an existing pinned post—I was asking F-Secure’s admins to publish one with clear guidance on beta participation and subscription renewals. Hopefully an admin can confirm your beta status and help resolve the renewal issue.

Hello,
Try to use this (current) landing page and its guide: https://www.f-secure.com/en/fs-protection
If that does not work, use the mentioned email address with a bit patient. :)
// in general, on Windows (at least) platform - expired UI should direct you to this webpage when visiting Subscription-related screen. A place where a bit is explained about design.
Still as per first URL:
Already have account?
If you already have an account but have lost the invitation, just enter your email to the form above and you will receive a new invitation for the existing account.
and you always can try to enroll with a new email address as a fresh beta tester.
// In addition, it is worth verifying that the trouble is not related to the use of an unsupported device or 'broken' connection to F-Secure servers. For example, checking whether a subscription has expired (and not been renewed) not just for a single specific device.
Or even double-check that your installation is still pinned to the email address you used to send the email.
By the way, what is your current version of installed application? Or where did you check expiration?
Thanks!

Hello,Thanks for the helpful information.
I have noticed that page before and mistakenly I thought it was only for a new beta user not for existing account.
I just submitted my account, and I got the blow notice, which seems doesn’t work:
Form submission failed
This email has been recently used for beta and can't be used right now.
My current version is 26.9 beta 1, on windows 10 22H2.
The expiration hint is popping out whenever FS protection is launched.
Yes, the page where the hint guided me to is the page you posted, this is why I am a bit confused if I am still an authorized beta user any more.
I also wrote email to the mentioned address email a few days ago, for sure I should wait patiently.
Currently I only install beta on my laptop, you are right maybe later I shall also try and see whether the subscription still works with my phone or not.

Thanks for your response.
Well, yes.
This is intended for new users of the beta version. And now, existing users can also (re)obtain an activation code - in case the devices currently in use failed to handle this task for some reason. Kind of self-service / automatic routine.
This is also a way to find out whether you are an active or inactive beta user (or better to say - your email is used/using in beta program). Because you wrote that ""I am not sure if I am still considered part of the beta users""; based on provided output - you are, but subscription is expired indeed.
Based on the information on the other webpage mentioned, if the subscription expires, you might have to wait six months before reapplying. However, I think that sending an email to the specified address could change the situation and allow for a manual subscription renewal; if beta team decides to do so. For instance, perhaps your subscription wasn't actually supposed to expire but was marked for renewal (yet something went wrong). Or perhaps they are always happy to have people help improve their products. And so on.
Sounds as your device is still supported.
Currently I only install beta on my laptop, you are right maybe later I shall also try and see whether the subscription still works with my phone or not.
I think since output was ""Form submission failed This email has been recently used for beta and can't be used right now."" - your subscription is in expired state. Otherwise, an email would have been sent, possibly containing an activation code for the "new" device / installation.
So, the best ways are:
- wait until they respond here or via email; to extend your current account's subscription (pinned to your main email address) or to receive denial confirmation;
- maybe to create another beta user account with another email (or alias). I am not sure it will harm them, especially, for only one active device and with a lot of potentially helpful feedback from that. Again, even to start from scratch is also a bit of 'test'. As well as, re-applying one 'subscription' to another on already installed instance / device.
Thanks!

That's very true.
It's worth noting, though, that the subscription might simply be renewed without any notification (unless the product is not uninstalled and so a corresponding notification will appear directly on the device) - meaning you might not get an email response, yet the subscription would still be extended. As implied by some community comments / topics on subject, this is often exactly what happened after sending emails to the aforementioned address..

Hi,
This document explains the beta renewal process: https://download.sp.f-secure.com/SE/FS-Protection/renew/index.html The clients should have a link to this when they are about to expire. By default, every user gets 6 months after which they are out for 6 months.
Before this we used to mass extend all users but we have changed the approach. This is to make sure we have real, active humans in the beta. Beta emails are processed weekly, please give it some time. If you just ask for extension you might not get a reply but you can see when subscription has been extended from the app.

Hello,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes I have seen this page before, which is why I wonder whether I am no longer an authorized part of beta users.
It is completely ok to manage the users according to any new policy, but I will suggest to be more specific or straightforward to let the beta user know your license will be not be activated in the next 6 months (e.g., by an e-mail notice).
Take me for example, until now, I still have no idea I am simply not authorized anymore or there is an issue/bug with the subscription.
This is what I exactly want to know.
