New Cat picture every morning

Every morning when I open my android phone, there is a cat picture on the front. This started last fall (2015).

Who is sending these cats to my phone??? Is if F-secure, Telia, or who?

Anyone else?

    Hello,

    You can try adding a screenshot of the "cat" to understand where it is, what it looks like, and so on.

    I do not think F-Secure is the source of this. I am not sure about Telia.

    But there are some possibilities of built-in Android stuff; depending on what “every morning” means (whether there is a cat only in the morning, or just the picture changes “every day”) and where the “new cat” is located (it’s a figurative cat, it’s a picture like wallpaper, something else).

    • you can try searching for "Cat Controls Android" with your preferred search engine. And see if mentioned cat ('a cat picture on the front) on your phone is something like this 'feature'. If so, the search results may contain suggestions on how to disable it;
    • some custom launcher theme or design may be used where this is part of it. if so, possible to stop using it or tune up (if available);
    • if the cat is just a picture as wallpaper, then you may have selected some “live wallpaper” where the cat is supposed to change every day. if so, you can try to change wallpaper choice.

    You mentioned last fall as "2015", so I am not sure.. if it meant to be "2025" - but if so - then "Cat Controls" is a possibility (added in Android 11 and probably still was a thing in Android 14) So, if your device is within this range of Android version, then I will suggest to search about it. Otherwise, screenshot or more description of "cat" - required.

    Thanks!

    Ukko:

    You knew it! "Dynamic lock screen" was on, in the Wallpaper services, on my old Samsung S10e.

    Thanks a lot!

    Great!

    Note: you may want to edit/remove "Cat2.jpg" in your comment as it contains an email address (looks like), which is not a good idea to show in a public place like Community. It's not that this is very-very dangerous or critical, but it could provoke someone to try to send fraudulent or phishing emails (and other risks; like trying to 'learn/get more' from this information).
