Why can't fsp back up its own settings like Kaspersky, Avast, and Eset?

As mentioned above, I hope that users can export their own settings, at least back up their own file whitelists. Sometimes when reinstalling the software, all the whitelists disappear and have to be recreated, which is very troublesome. I hope that the backup function can be launched.😏

    Hello,

Why can't fsp back up its own settings like Kaspersky, Avast, and Eset?

I think they can back up its own settings. Or rather, it exists as a routine.

It's just not available to users as a feature, and there's no "import" option, so to speak (as well as, 'save' it for reinstallation or 'pick it up' after).

As mentioned above, I hope that users can export their own settings, at least back up their own file whitelists. Sometimes when reinstalling the software, all the whitelists disappear and have to be recreated, which is very troublesome.

Yes, quite troublesome. But they did some improvements in a general sense.

For example, for a long time now, users have been able to export and import block lists and allow lists for websites. Which is really good and 'essential'.

Maybe that things like file exceptions and the like won't always be a priority. Such exceptions are generally not recommended. They're more of a workaround.

If a safe file is detected as malicious, it's best to notify F-Secure Labs and remove the detection. If exceptions are required for specific scenarios (for example, for developers), you might also try opening a support ticket. However, exceptions/exclusions in this case - probably - shouldn't be too cumbersome and can be done as part of the system setup (or after a reinstallation).

If file/path exceptions are part of something home users don't typically do - then.. it would be nice to have an easy way to restore file/path whitelists, but that might not be the most popular request.

I also sometimes want to restore settings (or don't want to reinstall the software, as I don't want to return it to the way it is now). But F-Secure itself doesn't have much in the way of tuning, and many things are already used by default (in fact, I only need to change one or two things). While whitelist exceptions are possible to export/import; And other exclusions like for VPN or files/paths are more manageable.

I hope that the backup function can be launched.

I think, there was one (or maybe more) feature request about this functionality or options.

You could try to research a bit: https://community.f-secure.com/en/categories/Idea_Exchange

and if there is nothing, then to create one with more formal idea description.

Thanks! And sorry for my English.
