FS Protection PC releases

In beta program the localizations to other languages are working in independent cycle from app release since we are releasing too fast to wait for localizations. This means that quite often there are some missing localizations until they catch up with the app.
In your specific case, I touched that event text recently and it's still being localized. It will fix itself automatically since localizations update independently of the app.

Release 25.9 beta 1 (6.6.175)
Family Protection:
Family Protection replaces Family Rules with simplified local management. Local administrators can now apply predefined content filtering profiles to all system users without requiring F-Secure account linking. Time limits have been removed to streamline the experience.
- No external account linking required
- Direct local user management
- Predefined filtering profiles
- Time limits removed
VPN websites bypass:
Specific websites or domains can be set to bypass VPN tunnel. After adding website to bypass list, browser may need to be restarted in order to get change effective due caching. Also bypass does not work if DNS over HTTPS is enabled.Bug fixes:
- VPN killswitch blocks DHCP IP renewal (PBL-14985)
Known issues:
- Help content is not yet updated to talk about Family Protection feature
- If license expires, Family Protection still shows active in user interface and allows changing settings, however these are not enforced
- Automatic VPN protection feature may cause VPN to get in stuck state where it can be only recovered by rebooting device or restarting fsvpnextsvc service

Is there a known regression bug re-introduced by the latest update "Release 25.9 beta 1 (6.6.175)", 09.09.2025, where YouTube Restricted Mode is enforced ON.
My daughter encountered this issue this morning, her YouTube was okay yesterday.
This update is shown in 'fs protection' "Recent events" for Tuesday 9.9.
She was able to by-pass this issue by deactivating FS Browser Protection extension on her Firefox browser.
Firefox 142.0.1 (64-bit)
Windows 11 24H2
It appears the this mode was enforced via HTTPS headers set by the FS Browser Protection extension.
On my own computer, I do not see that issue (all same updates / versions.)
Is there a setting to adjust this "SafeSearch" functionality?
She is not under 18 of age. FS Family Protection is OFF and her account on "My FS" is an adult. -

- "Illegal downloads" category blocking is not working (PBL-15195)

I was an on and off contributing member of the Bitdefender forum since 2007, and was also a mod there at one time until I left for good about a year ago. They had just as many problems with the stand alone VPN as well as the security app itself, and even more so with the app.
Granted F-Secure is still going through some transition issues, especially in getting the VPN figured out, but it's one of the more stable AV's I've used.
Not chiding you as a leading, helpful, contributing member here :) but just adding my 2 cents fwiw, having used about 4 AV's and VPN's over the last 10 years.
Cheers :)

Hello,
Some things to ask:
- "the firewall sensor can be disabled in Settings in case it causes problems in some environments." - so - is it worth to report/mention any trouble or potential troubles because of this option? And is it possible to clarify one point: let's say I disabled the feature (without rebooting the system) and the situation didn't change. Does this mean the troubles aren't related to this feature? Or do I need to reboot the system to make the firewall sensor inactive or ineffective?
- "predefined filtering profiles" - so - will there ever be an option to manually modify profiles, say by manually removing or adding a category? Or perhaps some additional profiles or a completely custom profile? In my case - I am alright with 'strict' one, but it included 'shopping' category, which basically very generically universal and affected just most of random cases (like updating some applications or visiting some 'not strictly' shopping pages). With social media (or less with streaming media) - it is a bit of easy to allow manually certain resources, but with 'shopping' - I can't even sometimes know that's is blocked in background because of this. And it's generally very huge list of resources then.
- For quite some time now, when I try to use Google Search (Microsoft Edge), when I hover over the ranking logo in the search results, it sometimes just twitches, trying to "position" itself. It constantly opens and closes very quickly. Until or unless I refocus again, and if good, the information card will be shown. I can't reproduce it enough stable. I mean, with the same routine - this may or may not happen. However, it happens quite often, considering that I try it relatively rarely.
// examples of troubles mentioned in first one are: accessing folders with a lot of files (which is better now with 25.10?!), longer time to establish VPN connection, and just some performance things (which are better after initial release). which was introduced directly from 25.9 beta 2 release and remained unchanged in one form or another. As for today: I can mostly think only about longer time to establish VPN connection compared to the time before 25.9 beta 2.
Thanks!

From @Ukko's above post:
"the firewall sensor can be disabled in Settings in case it causes problems in some environments." - so - is it worth to report/mention any trouble or potential troubles because of this option? And my question is what is it (besides what the name implies) and what is it actually doing, how it it enhancing our device protection?
"Added firewall sensor for Device Protection".
TIA :)

Hi @Ukko
"the firewall sensor can be disabled in Settings in case it causes problems in some environments." - so - is it worth to report/mention any trouble or potential troubles because of this option? And is it possible to clarify one point: let's say I disabled the feature (without rebooting the system) and the situation didn't change. Does this mean the troubles aren't related to this feature? Or do I need to reboot the system to make the firewall sensor inactive or ineffective?
Symptoms to be on look out for: bluescreen of the system, high CPU usage of DNS host, DNS query slowness. What you listed, folder access is unlikely to be related. VPN connection establishing could be related to DNS query problems.
Enabling/disabling should take effect immediately without reboot.
"predefined filtering profiles" - so - will there ever be an option to manually modify profiles, say by manually removing or adding a category? Or perhaps some additional profiles or a completely custom profile? In my case - I am alright with 'strict' one, but it included 'shopping' category, which basically very generically universal and affected just most of random cases (like updating some applications or visiting some 'not strictly' shopping pages). With social media (or less with streaming media) - it is a bit of easy to allow manually certain resources, but with 'shopping' - I can't even sometimes know that's is blocked in background because of this. And it's generally very huge list of resources then.
You can only select from the 3 predefined profiles and can not customize categories any more.
For quite some time now, when I try to use Google Search (Microsoft Edge), when I hover over the ranking logo in the search results, it sometimes just twitches, trying to "position" itself. It constantly opens and closes very quickly. Until or unless I refocus again, and if good, the information card will be shown. I can't reproduce it enough stable. I mean, with the same routine - this may or may not happen. However, it happens quite often, considering that I try it relatively rarely.
We are not aware of this problem. It would be good if you can get a video of it happening and submit a bug report with the video.
