Mac F-secure VPN stopped working

Maybe After an update, the F-secure VPN stopped working. It gives me list of instructions ( this is the ONLY software I have ever used that frequently asks the customer to jump over sets of hoops, just to keep working).

Anyway, the first step is "Click Continue to start loading the system extension. This opens a system warning message."

No, it doesn't! It just hangs forever. Why this service is always so bad. And if your answer is, again to set of other hoops, starting with uninstall the sofware, I can already tell, that I will, and I will NEVER install anything to your company again.

    I have the exact same issue on my Mac. I've been using F-Secure VPN for a few years and I have to say the quality control of Mac software has been really bad. My subscription ends in 14 days and I have no intention of renewing my subscription with this kind of quality control

    → If it’s there, click “Allow” and restart the app.
    (This system prompt often gets skipped or buried after update.)

    This is the only real hoop that might make the app come back to life. If it’s not visible, then yes — the app is genuinely stuck, and the fault lies with them, not you.

    You're totally within reason to uninstall the app and move on. F-Secure has had recurring VPN problems on macOS and Android in 2023–2025, many tied to:

    • Kernel extension changes (on Mac)
    • Unified VPN stack updates (on Android)
    • Failing to properly migrate configurations during version upgrades "

    I had to activate the extension manually by toggling a switch in
    System settings > Login items and extensions > Network extensions

    ⬇️ This is a woefully inadequate instruction.

    For the amount paid for a subscription, this problem should not have occurred at all.

    Apparently we presumably should've known 🙄 this system extension loads to somewhere (despite the permanent waiting/loading indication) and when the ⬇️ instruction indicates to system settings it refers to those of your computer and NOT the f-secure settings in a system warning message (that never pops-up).

    Therefore:
    🍏 > System settings > General > Login items and extensions > Network extensions > F-Secure VPN (Hydra) > ⓘ

    Sorry, I didn't have enough time to change the computer language.
