Hello,

I'm just wondering, with the updates being simplified into one entry, is F-Secure still using, updating OneClient, Capricorn, Hydra, and Virgo? Or, have those, some of those components been removed? It can be hard to truly know what is, was being updated without that information we were previously used to seeing.

  • Updates for Device Protection are now grouped under a single update entry.

TIA :)

"Hi @JOnes! Thanks for your message. The VPN updates mentioned in the release article(25.2) will be released to Windows gradually this month. The new VPN core will be automatically released in the current version 25.2, so the customer does not need to update the program again themselves. We apologize for the delay!"

    during 3/2025 i presume…

It was to late to edit my above post, but I think I found part of my answer from the scan log.

    Hello again :)

Just curious, is there a time frame of when this gradual roll out for the WireGuard protocol is expected? A month, 2 months or the next build i.e. 25.3? Just excited to check it out.

    • Hydra and WireGuard protocols have been added, while the IKEv2 protocol is no longer available.

    Note

: While customers will receive version 25.2, the new VPN core will be rolled out gradually in stages. Some users may receive it later as part of a phased release.

    Thank you.

Here's where I'm at this morning. What version are you using, as I'm not sure why they're different? I'm on 25.2.

    Cheers :)

I'm not sure why your v25.2 shows more information than mine? @Firmy do you have any ideas?

    TIA :)

    Hi,

The list is showing downloads. In the new version all antivirus related downloads happen in single package which is "Device Protection". It contains multiple engines but the engine names have changed as you already saw.

F-Secure NIF Web is browsing protection related "engine". It is integrated directly to the app in this version and separate download is no longer required. Due to technical limitations, after app update from previous version to 25.2 the "F-Secure NIF Web" is visible for about 7 days in the list. It will disappear on its own.

Thank you @Ville for answering my question, and @Firmy for doing such a good job in keeping track of the forum :)

    Cheers :)
