Firewall

Hello,

Will the next version of F-Secure contain a firewall?
For now, we have to use the Windows firewall.
Many other security solutions include a firewall.
I believe a few years ago F-Secure had a built-in firewall. Deleting it is, I think, a mistake compared to other security solutions.

    Hello @ClaudeD

For now our products will continue to have the integrated firewall with the Windows firewall settings. However, we will carry this forward to our developers as a feature request to bring back our own firewall.

We do appreciate and value your feedback!

    Hello,

I hope a firewall will be added before my license is renewed next year

Hello, I probably wouldn't count on it. I've only been back to using F-Secure for about a year now, so as far as I know, F-Secure abandoned the firewall in 2013. So when it's implied that it will be forwarded to the developers, IMO is not optimistic.

    Cheers :)

    Hello,

There are other more complete products.
So, my choice to extend my subscription or not would be made when it expires.

  • I know what you're saying in that regard, but, with some of the other AV's you're going to get an additional 4-6-10 extra add on modules that I find to be unnecessary, just creating possibly more glitches and issues. When my subscription for Total is over I may switch to Internet Security, depending on what they do to improve the VPN usability and stability.

I am using the free version of GlassWire, as in my case I'm just mainly wanting a pop-up notification for new outbound connections. It does have some other useful information as well.

Even Windows Firewall Control could be an option, but it may need to be included in Exclusions as to not be flagged by F-Secure. I just like the simplicity of what F-Secure offers, basic online and PC protection and not lots of bells and whistles :)

Just my opinion, for what it's worth :)
