Hi,

I have noted that this Beta version 18.5 is making my computer running faster. Is it using an enhanced engine?

    It is likely that they always aim to improve performance and the "lightness" factor.

    But I think "computer running faster" is a bit of subjective. In my experience, I did not notice a significant change (regarding the speed of the system).

    However, 18.5 beta is already a stable release. So, it is possible to read "What's New":

    What's New in F-Secure SAFE for PC and Internet Security - F-Secure Community

    about what has been added, improved, changed or fixed. This is probably not an absolutely complete list - but the most noticeable things (perhaps)

    Maybe one ((or all)) of these things made your system run faster (even prior to 18.5 beta2).

    If the question was about something else, then I don't think they "lowered" the level of protection.
