Security Shield

Does anyone knows something about the rogue anti-spyware application Security Shield. I was infected by it and I actually don´t know how I got rid of it. First it prevented me from using my Internet browser (IE8) and I was not able to use The Task Manager. I did a F-Secure total scan of my PC but no virus was detected. Then I shut down and started in Safe Mode. Actually I didn't do any more as far as I know. Next time I started Windows in normal mode the Security  Sheild application, with all fake security messages and requests to buy it was gone. At least apparently. Can I be sure that I have got rid Security Shield?

    Scan your computer from time to time both in normal and safe mode just to be sure that you finally get rid of the virus.image

    Regarding your situation kindly try the following tools. Please remain connected when run the Easy clean.

    or

    If the tools does not help, we suggest that you open a support cases with customer care we will provide you our internal tools to collect log and samples from your machine.

    Can you please explain why F-Secure does NOT automaticly detect or even dectect via a scan this spyware/virus???

     

    This is not why i payed for your product??

    i have the same problem.

     

    the technicalsupport seems to be not so technical.

    they give me no solutions only questions.

    Yes we have tried this tool.
    No detection with this tool

    I have used a tool from another editor with success !!!

    Sadly no, only Malawarebytes seems to remove completly the threat. Think you have to look beter at your products and make them better.

    It seems like I have to go with Malwarebytes or add their software to my system just in case. It is better to be cautious these days. image

    Have the same problem

    How come F secure doesn't detect or remove this malware ?

    I had to install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to do so !

     

    Could the F Secure support answer ?
