Parental Controls in SAFE 17.4

Seems Parental Control is switched on by default in F-Secure SAFE 17.4 for Mac. How do I switch it off?

    Hi Rowin,

    Welcome to F-Secure Community !

Here is the steps to switch off Parental Control in F-Secure SAFE for Mac:

Go to SAFE Account https://my.f-secure.com, login in to your account with your username and password > Click on My child's device > Select Time Limits and click the On/Off button at the top right & the same steps for Content Filtering.

    Thank you

    Hi Pavitra,

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I don't have a SAFE account.

F-Secure SAFE is included with my internet access subscription.

I informed my internet provider something is wrong with the download.

I never had any issues with previous versions of F-Secure SAFE.

    Kind regards

    Hey Rowin,

I'd suggest you to contact your internet provider to guide you how to turn on Parental Controls.

    Hi TifaOng,

Thank you, I did. My internet provider forgot to implement the feature.

Their advice: switch off Browser Protection. Not really a solution.

    Kind regards

    Hey Rowin,

Do you mean you need to turn off Browsing Protection so you can enable Parental Controls?

Can I know what's your internet provider? I can check if how the Parental Control was implemented for your provider.

    Hi TifaOng,

My ISP is XS4ALL in The Netherlands. Mac users can't disable Parental Controls.

    Hi @TifaOng,

Did you already contact XS4ALL about this?

The information from XS4ALL is that they get a customized F-Secure implementation and that F-Secure decides which components are enabled.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

Sorry for my reply. I am only an F-Secure user (their home solutions).

Sounds that your experience is about such trouble:

Or 'one fix' can be valid for both situations.

    Thanks!

    Hi @Ukko,

    Thanks for this information!

Indeed this is the problem and good to read a fix will be released:

"That being said , the issue is Safe activation component makes Parental Control enabled even this feature is not avialable for the customers to manage, as result the websites with Categorization Shopping & bidding are automatically Blocked.

Our backend has managed to reproduce the problem and still working on it as soon as the fix will be released through F-secure Update in the next maintenance release for F-secure Safe for Mac 17.4 R1.

ETA expected to be in next two weeks ( Mid of November 2018). Meanwhile, we apologise for the inconvenience that it may have caused you, and we appreciate your understanding as we continue to improve our customer experience."
