It sounds like your phones is synced (?!); Does it possible that there "in use" some default features under pnones (iOS? Android? Windows Phone? other mobile platform?) about sync-options (or connected devices)?

Or some software (as cloud-storage or sync-service)... which can be with "one account" for both phones?

 

Or you mean something else (as more suspicious view of situation)? Maybe you able to provide some more information (like which phone platform; what kind of stuff there - media? phonebook?) - and maybe there will be more good advices/suggestions from other community users.

Here is some ideas for you.

- phone has always phone number, check those numbers
- what stuff? In smartphones may be many apps, browser etc.
- what about cameras photos or textmails, are they in right phone?
- teleoperator might help in techinal problems
- you mentioned: HANKED, suspect you criminal happening?
- this mixing things is extraordinary
- if you have in your phones calls transfer to others phone?

This is mere guesswork, because the phones are long away.

Don't get panic, it is only phone!
