Protecting the whole home network

Hi!
I'm wondering if there's currently a way to protect your entire home network with a gateway/firewall solution. I have a Linux firewall that all external traffic goes through, and a Linux client for the external interface would seem to do the trick. But since that platform is not supported, is there any other feasible way of doing the same thing, e.g. having all outbound traffic automatically directed to VPN, without the need for per-device clients?

F-Secure Freedome is a per device VPN solution and this supports the Operating Systems as mentioned here. If your question/discussion is generally about a VPN solution (and not Freedome), please let me know so that I can move it to the correct board.
