Android phones infected with spy program?

We have a reason to believe that my wifes ex has installed spy program in their kids android phones. How can we check phones for this? And how to protect phones.

Do you have F-Secure Safe installed on your mobile? You can also manually go through the list of apps installed on the phone to check if you see any suspicious app installed.

Not yet installed F-Secure, but will do it within soon. Have it on all our laptops etc. I have understood that some of the spy programs are hard to find. Will F-Secure find and block them?

F-Secure SAFE should be able to find the spywares as well. I was able to find another detailed post by one of our Community members about removal of Spyware on smartphones. Please have a look at the post.
