Rootkit scan stops after a second or two, says "scanning was interrupted"
Hi,
My email program seems to be sending out spam to people in my address book once every week or so. I've run a full system scan of my Windows 7 Home Premium PC, but it doesn't find anything. When I try to run an F-Secure rootkit scan, it starts but then stops after about 1 to 2 seconds, and displays the message "Scanning was interrupted." It also shows that 0 items have been scanned. I'm worried a virus/rootkit is preventing F-Secure from running properly. Is there a way to force a rootkit scan to run, or to determine what's infecting my Windows mail?
Thanks,
IJ

Not sure why you would have that error. You might want to submit a Support Ticket, attaching an FSDIAG from the Support Tool so that the tech guys can have a closer look.
In the meantime, I've not tried these myself, but there are a number of other rootkit scanners which it might be an idea to try - here are a couple of suggestions:

hi
the part of antirootkit included in scan engine last year.your full scan can be scan rootkit.for the above reason the blacklight(original antirootkit engine) was abolished.

don't worried, deepguard will prevent any falsification of -secure.there's remote possibiity of force stop with your f-secure antivirus software.
