Subscription renewal; will update nullify remaining order time?

I have purchased a new package of F-Secure Safe. Current purchase is valid for another 28 days. If I enter the new activation code now, will I lose a months worth of old subscription?

Or do I have to digest the annoying reminders for a month before activating the new order?

BTW: Is there a way to eliminate the pop-up reminders?

I'm pretty certain that you won't lose days if you add the new subscription early.  It should just continue from when the old subscription ends.
