Is F-Secure missing a virus on my computer
For 2 days I have had a problem with my computer running very slow. I had this about a year ago and took it in to a local shop and it proved to be a virus. The shop recommended F-Secure to prevent this. I am haveing similar problems and am wondering if it is possible to have a virus and it is not being picked up on the scan?
Thanks for the help, Andrew

I'd say it's unlikely to be a virus, but not impossible, as no anti-virus software can be 100% guaranteed fail safe. It may well be adware, or a PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program), which F-Secure hasn't picked up on, as technically, these are not actual viruses.
What I would suggest is a scan with www.malwarebytes.org to see if that detects anything, then come back to us with the results and we'll go from there if there's still a problem.

Hi Andrew,
If that's the case, and the computer is still running slow, then I suggest you send in a Support Ticket with the FSDIAG file from the Support Tool so that the tech guys can take a closer look at things for you.
One other thing before you do that though - have you checked for Windows Updates and made sure that any pending updates have installed? It would also be worth a reboot if you've not done one for a while.
Let us know how you get on.
