FTP Port 21 blocked?

Hello,

since I am using Freedome sometimes when I connect to an FTP server via Transmit I receive the error that the port is not valid:

Server: Illegal PORT command

Error -162: PORT failed

 

 

I use the normal FTP port 21 with passive mode = on. On some servers I do not get the above mentioned error message on others I do. Does somebody know whats going on and if there is a possibility to fix it?

    Hello Torben,

     

    Could you try to confirm that the servers on which you have problems are supporting Passive mode?

     

    Also can you confirm that on the same problematic servers, with Freedome Off ,you don't have any problems?

    Hello,

    sorry for the late response - yes passive mode is supported by the FTP server. Actually I log on via FTP always with passive mode enabled, but this works only if F-Secure is not protecting my connection. Any ideas?
