Trusted Network Adapter What is?

What is the Trusted Network Adapter?
I have Not selected a trusted network adapter in my firewall and I want to know what the consequences or selecting or not selecting a trusted network adapter?
The only thing listed on the Trusted Network Adapter is
NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mps Ethernet #2
[I'm not sure what this is?]
Would having this Not selected have any effect of slow/freezing IE9, microsoft help executable, windows help & support, and or Windows Media Center tv recording? [These are the problems i'm working out this year 2012)
Any Feedback would be appreciated, thank you.

Hi,
trusting that interface would render the firewall inactive for it. DO NOT DO THAT
Slowness of IE has a different cause. Do you have browsing protection installed and do you get the green/red markers for each link? or do you only see grey "?" ?

Hi MJ
Thanks for responding. I WILL NOT DO THAT re Trusted Network Adapter. I have browsing protection installed but disabled (I have been looking at a way to completely uninstall my Cogeco F Secure Browsing Protection)
This is the message where I am trying to resolve my IE9 problems Which all seem to have started in January 2012 with the installation of F Secure 2012
Thanks for the quick response.

Hi Guys,
would you mind not to splatter the discussion into several threads and stick to one topic?!
Thanks
