Accessing wifi printer

What are the steps to allow access to a wifi printer uder the home firewall setting?

 

I have a canon mx880 with a wifi connection. I can acces the printer if I select the Allow All firewall selection. I want to set up the Home firewall to allow access to the printer.

 

Can someone point me to the information needed to do this.

Never fails. As soon as I post the request, I find the answer. There is an office/printer firewall setting that allows access to the printer.

Indeed. Any kind of firewall just block ports that's it. Any every device/service/application like a wifi printer has its own port number used.

 

So you need to get the port number being used and whitelist it in the firewall.
