Downloaded Freedome does not open

Just downloaded a VIP Freedome on my 5-year-old MacBook --- can find the programme in my Applications folder alright,  when double-clicking the programme icon, it simply flashes but does not open. Wonder, what the problem might be. (My computer has been quite slow lately, emptied it yeasterday from all iPhoto stuff, now works on normal speed.)

May I know what is your OS version?

It's OS X 10.6.8.

The Mac OS X 10.6.8 is not a supported version for the Freedome product as it is supported from OS X 10.9 or later. You may check the supported platforms in this link.
