Windows 10 prevents F-Secure installation from a CD

If you are installing an F-Secure security product from a CD (e.g. you have purchased a retail box from your local store) to a Windows 10 system, you may get an incompatible version message from Windows 10. Microsoft Runtime sees this as an old installer (therefore incompatible) and automatically prevents the installation process to continue. We are currently working with Microsoft to get this block removed.

Workaround 1

It is advisable that you download the latest versions of the installers from F-Secure's website or your provider's website. F-Secure SAFE subscribers must download the latest installer through the My SAFE portal.

For F-Secure Internet Security and F-Secure Anti-Virus installers, go to F-Secure Downloads page.

For F-Secure SAFE installers, go to My SAFE portal.

Workaround 2

If applicable, rename the installer from F-SecureNetworkInstaller_C-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX_.exe to Win10_C-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX_.exe.
