            C.1.      Ran manual update for F-Secure Internet Security definitions - current

            C.2.      Ran complete computer scan – no issues found

            C.3.      Pop-up offer to download F-Secure Booster Free – downloaded and ran

            C.3.a.   Thought it strange for a window to appear with a couple of non-english notations

            C.3.b.   Four items, top of window, run and all red bars changed to green bars

            C.3.c.   Computer restarted several times

            C.4.      Did other activities after B.3. – B.3.b activities completed

            C.4.a.   Shut down computer for the night

 

    2015Jn 10, Wd

            D.1.      Started up computer

            D.2       Windows first screen started normally followed by black screen with white print notifications.

            D.2.a.   Message indicating "register optimization" activities being done

            D.2.b.   D.2.a. done twice

 

            E.  After D.1. – D.2.b. windows appeared to start per routine

            E.1.  Windows message that computer was unable to start

            E.1.a.   E.1. message appeared second time

            E.1.b.   Windows diagnostics runs automatically to identify/correct problems

            E.1.c.   Windows restores to earlier point and apparently successful in normal system operation

 

           F.  Very wary now of product.

           F.1.  No specific information of what "register optimization" entailed.

           F.2.  Always very wary of changes to register by any application but trusted F-Secure product.

 

           G.  Anyone else with this/similar experience?

           G.1.  What was the solution?

    What a great post! It's nice to get some proper details. Unfortunately, I can't help, as I haven't used Booster yet (wary, for the same reasons you were / are), but hopefully someone will have some suggestions.
