F-Secure Booster bugs

1) Boot defrag shows "?AME_?" instead of product name.

You can confirm this by file

C:\ProgramData\F-Secure\F-Secure Booster\RegDefragDll\RegDefragNT xx.cfg

There is line

IDR_DEFRAG_EXE_START_MESSAGE=Käynnistetään ?AME_?, peruuta painamalla ESC-näppäintä:

2) regfiles is not set to hidden and system attributes after defrag. (eg. user netuser.dat)

    Only logfiles older than lets say one week, should be consider for deletion. It does not make any sense delete same log file over and over again.

  • Hello,

    I don't plan to hang here more but I think it is not very good idea to delete bluetooth related drivers automatically... Smiley Very Happy

    Affected product: Asus BT400

    Broadcomm Widcomm drivers

    What happens: Deletes some files related to file transfer, help files etc resulting software not responding to device anymore or unknown errors.

    Affected users fix: Unistall Widcomm bluetooth drivers and install Asus BT400 drivers again (note without unistalling first, reinstall will fail)

    Even if you unistalla F-Secure Booster

    RegDefragNT.exe is left in system32 and also in

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\BootExecute

    So, Windows will always loaded only AFTER

    "Operating system will be loaded..."BootExecute.jpg

  • Hello,

    Thank you for your reports.

    @Meitzi

    We are working on making a fix available for the problems you reported. However it might take a while for them to be published.

    @FireFlower

    Deletion of device drivers should not be possible to Booster. Could it be that the driver was removed by some 3rd party software update. Did you do driver or software update before the bluetooth driver was deleted?

  • @Ben

    Files were removed from C:\Program Files\WIDCOMM\Bluetooth Software  which caused whole driver system to go nuts. I confirmed this to happen twice. I am not sure which files booster deletes from there but when bluetooth (utility) is loaded at startup file sharing over bluetooth doesn't work anymore with any device.

    Asus BT400 is pretty common bluetooth adapter and it has only one driver version which comes with utility also (~500MB).
