Maybe someone who uses it will offer a clue, but usually you can opt to hide the icon via the 'three dots' settings in the app. In the Notifications list which you can usually swipe away, does it say if it's doing anything, or just that it's active? I just wondered if the icon might appear when scanning, as I've seen others that do that.

I'm only guessing, as I don't use it myself, but have you checked in the app's settings?
Yeah Ive had a look but I cant find anything. Its no big issue just a bit annoying, I'll see if it sorts itself on its own accord.

Hello Mystic,
Which product(version) and which version of Android are you running?
Could you provide a screenshot of your problem so to better understand?
I had the same issue, being unable to hide the F-Secure notification icon on Android (Lollipop) right after installation.
SOLUTION: After waiting a couple of minutes the icon disappeared by itself
