Unloading AV

Does anyone know what triggers the reloading of AV after it has been unloaded?  Is it after a reboot, or maybe a time limit?

It's definitely after a reboot. Not sure if there's a time limit, but I don't recall seeing one. I think it's also restarted when you double click the tray icon to open the program again.
