Is FS protection beta same as TP?

I just installed FS protection beta and it removed my TP install, I tried to look but did'nt find any info about which version of internet protection it installed.

I didn't look into the details, but on first glance, it looks pretty similar to ISTP under the outer shell. Perhaps someone from FS could confirm?

The Windows client is same in FS Protection and Technology Preview. FS Protection supports additionally Mac and Android and has management portal for users.

 

You can find the version of Windows client by right-clicking tray icon and selecting 'About'. The version is on the first (bolded) line. Currently is should be 2.19.267.

FS protection seems like a very good product, much improved handling of devices and licenses.

Now only a WP8 client is missing

Just to follow on from this, perhaps someone from FS could confirm, is Protection effectively replacing the Internet Security TPs, ie, will there be any more ISTPs released from now on?

I ask because I currently have the last ISTP on one machine, and FSPTP on another.
