Is "Mobile Broadband" setting works with network sharing by cell phone via Wi-Fi?

I use my iPhone to share the network(3G) to my laptop via Wi-Fi. Is the new feature "Mobile Broadband" on F-Secure Anti-Virus 2012 works with this situation?

If I share my iPhone's network via USB, bluetooth and Wi-Fi to my laptop, it doesn't work with "Mobile Broadband" mode, right?

The mobile broadband settings is only available on Windows 7. By default, security updates are always downloaded when you are in your home operator's network. However, the updates are suspended when you visit another operator's network.

 

This is because the prices of connections may vary between operators, for example, in different countries. You might consider keeping this setting unchanged, if you want to save bandwidth and possibly, also costs, during your visit.

 

Note: This setting applies only to mobile broadband connections. When the computer is connected to a fixed or wireless network, the product is automatically updated.

 

Generally this setting would only applied to 3G USB Modem Dongle. I'm not an iFan so I might be wrong. I do found some information to share/route Internet connection on iPhone but I didn't find any option to configure your iPhone acts as a modem.
